ABOUT US
John McGrath is a retired detective sergeant with the Pima County, Arizona, Sheriff’s Department and an experienced corporate security manager and investigator. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from the University of Arizona, and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix. A lifelong learner, John is currently completing a second master’s degree, this time in forensic psychology. He holds a Certified Protection Professional certification, the most prestigious certification in security management, from ASIS International, and a Certified Threat Manager certification from the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. John holds positions on the boards of both organizations’ Phoenix chapters. John volunteers his time serving on a professional advisory board at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and as a member of his church’s security ministry. He also provides pro bono training and consulting services for other faith-based organizations.
John Michael McGrath is a commissioned officer and combat veteran in the United States Army, and served five years as a sergeant with the University of Arizona Police Department. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Arizona, a Master of Education in Human Services from Northern Arizona University, and is completing a Master of Social Work at Arizona State University. John Michael was awarded a Bronze Star along with other medals for his service in Operation Enduring Freedom. John is also a guest lecturer for law enforcement Crisis Intervention Training programs.
